Division 1B 2018/19 is the 102nd season of Belgium’s second highest division in men’s football and the third season as professional division 1B after the restructuring of the league system for the 2016/17 season. The official name of the league is Proximus League, named after the main sponsor Proximus.

Mode

The season will be played in two “tranches” of 14 match days each. The eight clubs will play against each other twice per tranche in a first and second round. The first tranche began on 3 August 2018 and ends on 9 November 2018. The second tranche will run from 16 November 2018 to 1 March 2019.

The winners of the two tranches will determine the champion in two matches, who will then be promoted to Division 1A. If one team won both tranches, it was promoted without a deciding match.

The three clubs in places two to four of the overall table (except for the winners of the promotion matches) played with nine clubs from Division 1A, places seven to fifteen in two groups and the subsequent final a participant who then qualified against the fourth of Division 1A for the European League.

The teams in places five to eight played a relegated team in the relegation round. The points from the overall table were halved and added as bonus points. If the points were equal, the team whose points were not rounded up was better placed.
