The European Curling Championships are an annual competition held in Europe between various national teams associated with the World Curling Federation. Normally, the Series A championship is held in December, and is valid for the qualifications to the World Curling Championships. The first official championship took place in 1975, but already in November 1974 an unofficial first edition of six European national teams was held in Zurich, Switzerland: Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy and Norway.
The European Championship is divided into three:
- Series A: the teams in the European ranking occupy the first to tenth position.
- Series B: teams from eleventh to twenty-fifth place in the European ranking take part.
- Series C: teams from the twenty-sixth position onwards in the European ranking participate.
The championships take place simultaneously at the end of November.
