The Hazfi Cup, better known as Jam Hazfi, is the Iranian football cup competition. It has been played annually since 1976. In the years 1978 to 1985 the Cup was not held because of the Islamic revolution, also in the years 1992, 1993 and 1998 it did not take place.

Mode

Over the years, the cup competition mode has been changed several times between single games and a to and back game system. From the 2005/2006 season, one game per round was to be played, as well as a final on neutral ground. In the first season, this rule was used to switch back to a final with outward and return matches at short notice, as the authorities of the first final venue, Maschhad, refused to host the cup final.

Since the 2011/2012 season, the final has again been decided in a typical final. In addition, the lower-ranking clubs are now meeting first, before the Azadegan League from round 3 and the Iran Pro League from round five (the last 32). All matches will be decided in one game.

The competition has grown in importance since the winner was awarded a place in the AFC Champions League.
